New urbanism has some good planning goals, but the bottom line is-- urbanism, weather new or old --- is best if applied in existing urban centers, not in the suburbs.

It simply doesn&#039;t make sense to add to the problem of  sprawl by creating new urban areas that compete and undermine established urban centers.</description>
